Organised crime in Finland
In Finland, the market for organised crime is largely made up of drug trafficking, which also involves gun crime and violence. Another big problem is cybercrime, such as various kinds of scams, phishing and black-market platforms. A significant proportion of cybercrime is internationally networked crime, and Finns are often victims.
Financial crime, human trafficking, various kinds of fraud and corruption are also widespread. The internet and social media have made it easier for criminals to operate and build networks.
Organised crime is becoming more aggressive, more widespread and increasingly international in Finland, while law enforcement authorities are introducing increasingly sophisticated methods of interception. Criminal organisations are always after money and take advantage of young people to achieve this end. They use shady tricks such as money muling to convert the illicit proceeds of their criminal activities into assets that appear to have a legitimate origin.
Trust us: getting involved with criminals is dangerous and never a good idea.
